HARARE SUSTAINABLE CITIES INITIATIVES


The Harare Sustainable Cities Initiative (HSCI) is a  project aimed at improving living conditions for the urban poor in Harare, Zimbabwe. The initiative focuses on implementing sustainable waste management practices, promoting clean energy access, and achieving energy and resource efficiency in the built environment. The project is spearheaded by UN-Habitat, in collaboration with Zimbabwe Sunshine Group, Soberlife International, Green Building Council of Zimbabwe, City of Harare and Epworth Local Board.

Objectives

The overall objective of the HSCI is to provide better living conditions for the citizens of Harare by improving their access to sustainable waste management services, clean energy, and promoting energy and resource efficiency in the built environment.
